Sacramento’s love affair with America’s favorite past-time traces its roots to the early days of the city. Find out how it all began on this Saturday morning tour at the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery! Informative and entertaining, this tour led by Dr. Bob La Perriere and baseball enthusiast Alan O’Connor is an opportunity to discover Sacramento’s rich history with the boys of summer. Hear the stories of some of Sacramento’s pioneers in baseball and brewing. Many of the players played professional baseball both on the West Coast and back East in the Major Leagues.
Held under the auspices of the City of Sacramento Division of History & Science, the Old City Cemetery Committee, Inc. presents this tour as a public service. Tours are free though donations for the restoration of the cemetery are greatly needed and appreciated.
